Web Design New Zealand
Web Design in New Zealand
We build custom websites for local businesses throughout New Zealand. Whether you need a first website or a rebuild of one that is no longer pulling its weight, we design the first page free so you can see the real thing before deciding anything. Based in Christchurch, working nationwide, and if you are local you can start on our Christchurch web design page instead.
What we build
Every site is custom, not a template with a logo dropped into it. That matters less for how it looks than for how it is structured: a template forces your business into someone else's layout, and the pages that should carry your most valuable services end up as line items on a generic services list.
- Mobile first. Most visitors arrive on a phone, so that is the layout we design first rather than shrinking a desktop design to fit.
- A page per service. Each service you want to be found for gets its own page, because a page about one thing ranks for that thing far better than a list.
- Built to be found. Structured data, meta descriptions, a sitemap, sensible heading structure, and pages that load quickly.
- A clear path to contact. An enquiry form that works on a phone and actually reaches your inbox, which is more often broken than people expect.

How the process works
Most web design asks you to commit before you can see anything real. You look through a portfolio of other people's websites, have a conversation about what yours might look like, and then pay a deposit and hope. We work the other way around.
Before anything is agreed, we build the first page of your website: your services, your location, your contact details, working on your own phone. You look at it in your own time and decide from there. If it represents your business the way it should, we build out the rest. If it does not, it has cost you nothing.
If you are weighing up who to work with, how to choose a web designer in NZ sets out the questions worth asking anyone, us included, and how long a website takes covers realistic timelines.
What it costs
Website pricing in New Zealand ranges enormously, and comparing quotes is harder than it sounds because different people scope projects differently. What changes the number is how many services need their own page, whether you have photos and copy ready, whether you need bookings or payments, and how many areas you want to rank in. What does not change it is how big your business is.
We publish our pricing openly rather than making you ask, and what a website costs in NZ walks through the wider market so you can compare quotes properly.
Getting found after the site is built
A website that nobody finds is an expensive brochure. The structure we build in from the start does a lot of the work, but local visibility also depends on your Google Business Profile, consistent business details across the web, and pages that target the specific searches your customers actually type.
Local SEO for Christchurch businesses covers the local side in detail, how to rank on Google in NZ covers the fundamentals nationally, and appearing on Google Maps deals with the map results specifically.
Areas we serve
We work remotely with businesses throughout New Zealand. These pages cover the areas we are asked about most often, each with its own local detail rather than a template with the place name swapped.
Common questions
How much does a website cost in New Zealand?
It depends on how many pages you need and how much of the content you already have. What it does not depend on is the size of your business. A sole trader and a ten person firm needing the same five pages pay the same. Our pricing is published rather than hidden behind a call.
How long does a website take to build?
The free first page demo is usually ready within a few business days. A full build, once your content is in hand, typically takes two to three weeks from approval of the demo.
Do I own the website when it is finished?
Yes. The domain is registered in your business name, the site is yours, and the content is yours. If you ever want to move it elsewhere, you can.
Do you work with businesses outside Christchurch?
Yes. We are based in Christchurch, and we work remotely with businesses throughout New Zealand and internationally.
Not sure which area applies? It does not matter.
We work remotely with businesses all over New Zealand. We design a free first page demo before you spend anything. You see it, then decide.
